LLAMA TOURS

ALL AGES • 90 MINUTES • $35-50  INCLUDES SHORT WALK WITH LLAMAS

Our guided Llama Tour is an educational, outdoor experience in the heart of the Flathead Valley, just 15-30 minutes from Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Kalispell and Flathead Lake. Get a real feel for Montana ranch life through an up-close encounter with our enchanting llamas.

Discover the fascinating history, many uses, delightful behavior and easy care of llamas. Feed them, lead one on a short walk and discover why, after 45+ years of breeding, training, showing and packing with them, we still say Llamas Are Fun!

This hands-on, fact-filled tour is perfect for families of all ages, and anyone seeking a memorable and truly unique Montana experience, conveniently located in a setting with spectacular mountain views.

Llama Tour Information
The safety and enjoyment of all our guests (and our animals) is our #1 goal.

What to Bring/Wear

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Layered clothing. Our weather is unpredictable and mornings are cool, even in summer.

  • A full water bottle and snacks. These are not supplied.

  • If needed, apply sunscreen and insect repellent before start of tour. (Bugs are rarely a problem.)

  • For their safety and to ensure they have a good experience around large animals, we recommend small children be carried in a backpack.

Tour Itinerary

  • Llamas 101: Learn about the species, their care and behavior, how llamas were domesticated by an ancient culture, and their unique features that are still invaluable to people today.

  • Meet & Greet:  Hand-feed the llamas. Hear them softly hum. Get a close look at their beautiful doe eyes, movie-star eyelashes, comical personalities and magical mountaineer feet.

  • Easy Walkabout: Take turns leading a llama companion on a short walk with your expert guide. Feel free to take pictures – the mountain vistas from our ranch are stunning!

  • Q&A: We keep the group size small so our guide has plenty of time for your questions.

  • Hang Out: At the end of your tour, you may spend a few extra minutes sitting with the herd. Bring a snack to enjoy before you head home (optional, not included).

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations up to 48 hours in advance will be refunded by GNLC minus $6 processing fee.

  • Notice of cancellation must be emailed to hello@gnllamaco.com with CANCELLATION in the subject line

  • No refund for late arrivals or no-shows

  • No refund for cancellation within 48 hours of tour, unless canceled by GNLC

  • Email hello@gnllamaco.com with any questions about this policy

Restrictions (so we all have fun!)

  • Come prepared for an outdoor experience on uneven terrain with seasonal snow/mud. We go, rain or shine!

  • Closed-toe shoes are required to keep your feet clean, dry and safe around large animals.

  • No smoking, vaping, firearms, alcohol or drugs

  • No dogs or other pets

  • No harassing the animals

  • No wandering away from the group or the guide

  • No phone calls, video chats, texting or posting during tour. Please keep phones on silent, but take all the pictures you want!

Facility & Accessibility

You will be outdoors. There is a "porta-potty" toilet and open-sided shed for sheltering if needed. A short, easy walk is part of this tour. The terrain is mostly flat but uneven in places, and can be wet or mucky depending on weather. Those in wheelchairs or with difficulty walking may not be able to fully participate in the Walkabout. Safety is our priority, and we apologize for any inconveniences.

Comfortable resting places are available for participants waiting while others complete the tour. We do our best to accommodate special needs. Please email us before your visit at hello@gnllamaco.com.
